Kivanto Solo terms of use
1. Free single-user operation
The rights holder permits one natural person to use Kivanto Solo free of charge on their personally used local computer. This includes personal and professional use. Multiple local AI clients and agents belonging to that same person may connect to the instance.
2. No shared server instance
This permission does not cover operating a shared service for multiple people, whether concurrently or sequentially. It excludes shared team, enterprise, terminal-server, shared VDI, intranet, hosting and SaaS deployments. Multiple people may not share a Kivanto Solo account or its agent keys. Network publishing, reverse proxies, tunnels or gateways do not extend these rights.
Operating an instance for multiple people or providing it as a network service requires a separate agreement for the Kivanto Server edition. Independent local installations for different people on their respective personally used computers are permitted.
3. Software and data
The software remains protected by copyright. Free use does not grant a general open-source license or a right to offer modified or unmodified versions as your own service to others. Technical restrictions may not be removed to use the software outside the granted rights, except where mandatory law provides otherwise. You may back up and export your own data.
4. Statutory rights and third-party software
Mandatory statutory rights, including necessary backup copies, permitted examination and legally permitted interoperability, remain unaffected. Included third-party software remains subject to its own license terms. These terms do not restrict rights granted by those licenses.
Paid services
Paid services, including the Kivanto Server edition, setup, data integration, training and ongoing support, are subject to the contractual terms expressly agreed in each case. Scope, fees and dates follow the relevant proposal and agreement. Free use of Kivanto Solo does not include these services.
Operation and external services
Kivanto Solo runs on your computer. The Server edition runs on the agreed infrastructure. For a self-managed installation, the operator manages access, backups and connection settings.
AI features use separately configured models or services. External AI providers, speech services, web research and connectors may receive inputs, document excerpts and other content required for the selected feature. The terms and fees agreed with each provider apply.
AI results and actions
AI results may be incorrect or incomplete. Check results, sources and proposed actions before using them, particularly before sending, publishing or making changes to data and systems. Only use content and credentials you are authorised to use.
Privacy and data processing
Supplying software for local or self-managed use does not include processing your stored work content by Daniel Schlager. External services you connect yourself and separately commissioned services must be assessed separately.
Where a commissioned service involves processing personal data on your behalf, a separate data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR will be concluded before that processing begins. These terms do not replace that agreement.
Statutory rights
Statutory warranty and liability rights and mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
